A friend of mine was tested positive as pregnant two months ago. She and her husband were very excited until just yesterday, out of knowhere she had mild cramping and light vaginal bleeding. When she went to the doctor about it today, he did a sonogram and found no baby! He apologized with sympathy and stated that it happens to 1 out of every 5 pregnancies. Is this true? What causes a miscarriage like this. Can she get pregnant again and have a successful pregnancy in the future. How long should she wait before trying to get pregnant again?

Hi, MJ.
Your statistics are scary! When I was in medical school (40 years ago) the statistic was one in ten. This increasing indication of our environmental burden, discussed so thoroughly on this 'site and in my book, are the same causes for the rapidly increaasing incidence of infertility as well.
ANYONE (father and mother) seriously considering a healthy pregnancy today MUST prepare the garden and the seed by reading Paavo Ariola, ND's classic "Every Woman's Book" at least 2 years prior to conception.
