Dr. Stoll,
After having terrifying heart palpitations for about 2 years, with nothing to be found by the cardiologist, I was at my wits end and asked for some anxiety medication. I was living in fear of my next "attack". He gave me some samples, and I took them home, but happened to remember seeing on here a long time ago about magnesium helping heart palpitations. Instead of taking the anxiety medicine, I began taking 200 mg of magnesium glycinate. What an improvement!!! Instead of something happening daily, I've only had a couple heart palpitations in a month. I just found out I'm pregnant. Forgive my ignorance, but I'm wondering if it is safe to continue taking the magnesium while pregnant?
Also, during pre-term labor in my last pregnancy, I was given "mag" to stop the contractions. Was this magnesium? And if so, I've wondered why I never had any heart palpitations in my life until after that. Right after being released from pre-term labor, these palpitations began and I've suffered ever since. Would there be any correlation?
Thank you so much!

Definately keep taking the magnesium! Also add fish oil if you're not already.

Thanks, Saige.
Of course there is a correlation!
Not only is it safe to take the magnesium during pregnancy but, with your hsitory it is essential. If it were me, I would at least triple my daily dose.
Let us know how you do.
