Poly-cycstic Ovary Syndrome

Posted by DeDe on November 02, 1998 at 11:30:52:

Dear Walt:

Thought I'd write you about my 20 year old daughter. About 1 and 1/2 years ago she stopped having her period. Her doctor diagnosed her with Poly-Cystitic Ovary Syndrome event though ultra sound revealed no cysts on her ovaries.
She now takes Provera 10 days a month to force her to have a period. She has had several negative pap smears but on follow up they said it was do to inflamation. She has chronic yeast infections and has gained alot of weight. She also was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue years ago like I have. She does not have any of the facial hair or other symptoms. She is always fatigued and very irritable. The endrocinologist ran numerous 24hr urine tests, blood tests, etc. and didn't find anything too revealing. She has been told she may never have children, and to expect to have to use fertility drugs. She tends to also have Obsessive-Compulsive disorder which she does not take medication for. Can you shed some light on all this?
Thanks again
DeDe

Dear DeDe,

Your daughter is a typical case of the conventional medical paradigm only treating the tips of the iceberg. ALL of her complaints (including the doc's prediction of infertility) are caused by the same process.

Unfortunately, there is no magic pill or treatment. The solution is her learning all about this and being willing to change what will resolve it. Neither you nor I can do this for her. SHE has to be willing to become a student of all this.

I would be happy to help here right here on the BB so others, with similar problems (you both would be AMAZED how common this story is becoming), would be inspired & helped by watching how to go at this & seeing your daughter become a picture of health.

If she is interested, whe should look at the link about Health Coaching so she would know what information is needed. So long as she does it publically, it is free. There is never a charge unless the person wants to do it privately (Since, then, no one else will benefit from the process.).

Walt

Dear Walt:
I have also been diagnosed with Poly-Cystitic Ovary Syndrome.
I just read this letter by DeDe on her 20 year old daughter and she said things about Chronic fatigue and Obsessive-Compulsive disorder. I'm hoping these are totally unrelated to the Poly-Cystic Syndrome....are they?
Also, can you give me more information on this?

Hi, Ann.

I hope you also read my response to that note.

ALL of these conditions are related to PCO. NOT that they cause each other but that they are all caused by the same basic mechanisms: chronic overload of the hypothalamus capacity to store stress-effect and the resultant LGS and complicating C-RS.

Go to the archives and read all you can find about all of these conditions. THEN, if you still have questions, write again.

Walt

Traditional physician(OBGYN) did sonogram 6 months ago, found ovarian cysts. Recently found little shrinkage. Change
in type of birth control pill resulted in more weight gain.
Wants to introduce me to new diet pill this coming week. Is
there some type of alternative medicine I can consider? Is
surgery indicated with this condition?

Dear Nicole,

PCO is caused by the endocrinopathy and "bracing" (ONLY caused by the overwhelming storage of stress-effect in the hypothalamus) that has also contributed to your LGS----without which you could not have gotten the smoking gun that C-RS is for this condition.

If you are not familiar with these terms, you have a lot of work to do to catch up. The archives, the homepage for this 'site and a copy of my book all would get you started in the right direction. If you already are relatively sophisticated in this area, you can go straight to Dr Pelletier's classic (most recent edition) "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer".

THEN when you have more questions, write again. This is a totally unnecessary condition. You will have to be willing to learn and to DO to get rid of it.

Walt
