Hello...
I am writing because a friend of mine had a child two years ago, and a week after the birth got a rash that was diagnosed as PUPPS syndrome. Apparently this stems from being allergic to pregnancy. No one in her family has ever had this before. And furthermore, her doctor thought it strange because usually with PUPPS you have the rash during the pregnancy and it heals when you give birth, and as I said, she got the rash after delivery. They treated her with steroids and it cleared right up. However, a week ago, she started getting a rash similar to her PUPPS episode before, and sure enough, today found out she is a month along. With all the excitement comes some concern that this is going to get bad as she has it already, and does not want to take any steroids/drugs as she is with child this time. She was in agony last time--head to toe huge welts. Could you give me any advice to pass along to her? Thank you very much.

Dear Michele,
This is an example of the danger of the conventional medical monopoly treating the symptoms only & ignoring WHY she would have something like this. This time around it is going to be a much more serious problem that could even threaten her life & the life of her fetus.
How to prevent stuff like this has been known for more than 40 years. It is all included in Paavo Airola, ND's classic "Every Woman's Book". Both she & her husband need to have read this stuff at least 2 years PRIOR to conception. It has just been reprinted & is available via amazon.com any bookstore and any library.
Unfortunately, although doing all this healthy stuff would probably help her even at this late date, it is probably too late to avoid all the problem. Certainly it is too late for the father to contribute any benefit.
ANY knowledgable physician would have taken the first episode as a warning and had them both do the things in Airola's book right away. Of course, that goes against the grain of the simplistic allopathic paradigm so here she is in real trouble. Who is the medical system supposed to be for anyhow??????
I have no magic bullets (and neither does anyone else). If she can survive this pregnancy, at least she can have a healthy one in the future but she and her husband are going to have to learn & do.
Walt

Walt,
Thanks for your response. Her doctor had not told her how serious this condition could be, your response really frightens me! We were just concerned as to how to avoid the rash! I am not sure how to share this with her. I will look into it. Thank you.
