premature births linked to gum infection!

I'm not sure how new this research is that I've heard about, but apparently the main indicator of likely premature birth is periodontal (gum) disease in the mother. It's a HUGE indicator. Gum disease produces a lot of toxins that go directly into the bloodstream.

So if anyone on this board is planning on getting pregnant, make sure first you don't have gum disease! Sorry, I just heard about it on the radio and don't have any links. Walt, do you know anything about this??

Jane

I'd heard of this before on mercola.com--do a search there & you'll find all kinds of articles.

I can contribute a tip on healthier gums. Years ago I was fortunate enough to encounter a dental hygenist who was in training to become a naturopath. She told me that my chronically irritated gums would probably get better if I used a toothpaste with no sodium lauryl sulfate and started taking CoQ10. Since I've been doing both those things I've had nothing but compliments on how good my gums look at the dentist's office.

Thanks, Jane.

I had not heard of this but it follows exactly what this website has been saying about a holistic approach to health for more than 8 years now.
