Dear Dr. Stoll:
I just came upon your site and am fascinated. I plan to obtain your book asap. Now to my question. I have an 11 yr old child (male) with multiple problems: food allergy, night sweats, nightmares, obesity, sensory integration disorders (especially with praxis, and hypersensitivity to touch) to name a few. I went to a new MD to get help reevaluating his neuro system and possible endocrine/genetic cause for obesity. The lab work came back with a very low hGh (neonate norm was 40, adult was 8, his was 0.5). I fired my MD when she refused to see me without my child sitting in the building. Her nurse said the readings were normal. I have now enlisted a holistic MD to help seek reasons for this unusual test result. How about some dialogue on hGh and the anterior pituitary?

Dear Pam,
If I had this child I would first find someone knowledgable to deal with and get him started on human growth hormone at once. Plenty of time to figure this out later.
THEN, I would get him started on a serious wellness program immediately. At this age, you would have to do it with him.
See the many references in my book & on this BB about "Meditating With Children" by Deborah Rozman.
As you see him improve, I hope you will share with the rest of us your experiences. There is a growing number of kids with the same kind of problems whose parents are at their wits end with the conventional medical model (which doesn't have a clue). They do not necessarily have the hGh problem. You are fortunate, in a way, that he has that since it gives us something to do easily that will push him in a healthier direction.
Even the hGh will not work forever so you need to get at the wellness since it is likely that he will start making his own hGh in about 6-12 months of a very healthy program.
Walt

Dear Dr. Stoll:
Do you know of any doctors in the Ft. Worth, NE Tarrant Co or Dallas TX areas who are experienced with growth hormone? Once Matt is over the flu I hope to have an endocrinologist lined up. Thanks for the prompt response. I'll definitely be posting here regularly as I'm sure there are alot of children like Matt out there.
