another probiotic question

I have just started taking strong probiotics in hopes of treating ulcers and the IBS symptoms the ulcer meds were giving me. I have stopped the ulcer meds, but I also take Methotrexate for RA (a low dose injection). After my second dose of probiotics, I spent the night in pain and discomfort...stomach bloated and hard, feelings of trapped gas, yuk! I looked for side effects of probiotics and see now these could be , but I also see that people on immunosuppressants shouldn't take probiotics. Should I stop?

I have a professional membership to ConsumerLabs.com a third party laboratory that independently tests supplements much like USP. They found many probiotics were actually dead and I am not a fan of the processing to get the bacteria into a pill and even less when they make them stomach acid resistant.

I have come to believe that natural is better. I use a good quality Kiefer that has 12 strains of probiotics occurring naturally. This is a product that has been used for hundreds of years by many cultures. Other good sources of probiotics is raw and it has to be unpasteurized sauerkraut and Japanese Miso.

Here is the key to buying ANY probiotic product - make sure it says "contains living organisms" not made with living organisms, this only means they were alive at the start of processing and may not be afterwards.

My question though is: as a user of methotrexate, should I stay away from probiotics?
