What do you know of these new soil probiotics such as Primal Defense? Do they work? Is it quackery? My chiropractor who keeps up with ligitimate research in the natural health field says he has seen no research on the topic at all and had not even heard of it. Also not one website lists the names of the "new discovered bacterium". I am a Lyme Disease patient and very interested since I am on high doses of antibiotics for months. The yeast problem has stopped as my doctor said it would as my immune system recovered. But I now have bacterial imbalances in my mouth and vagina which I keep under control with boric acid powder. I brush and swish with a boric acid solution in my mouth, then rinse. Works better than anything I tried on the yeast problem too. A capsule of boric acid powder (not crystals) in the vagina works better than any medication with less mess and no irritation. Also works on bacteria overgrowth. But, I am worried about what might be growing in my body in places such as organs that I cannot treat. I use probiotics everyday. I'm worried that my body may not be acid enough to keep good bacteria growing. Next month I will probably be taking Flagl - the gut sweeper. I am considering taking an antifungal med with it. Sorry to ramble on, I guess I needed to vent.Any info on those new probiotics would be appreciated. I didn't see Lyme Disease listed in your topics. As I read through some of the postings I saw symtoms that could point that way. Also Gurd can be helped with chiropractic adjustments. I have to get my stomach pulled down occasionally or I get heartburn and chest pain. Well, there's a couple of things that might help someone else. Hope you have an answer for me. Thanks, Susie

Susie, You can go to www.crohns.net and get lots of info on primal defense. I can assure you it is not quackery. Do not be alarmed that your doc has never heard of it, there are lots of doc's that have not heard of it and a bunch who do not want you to hear about it. Good luck

she had never heard of it, although she was very open about soil probiotics (I think she had heard of those though)......seems to me that chiro's are just like any other doctors...some are always learning, while others have stopped.

Hi Walt,
Specifically, Dr. Joseph Brasco, a board-certified gastroenterologist, based out of Chicago, uses this product routinely in his practice. He is one of the few holistically-oriented Gasroents. in the country. He sees tremendous success in problems like IBS and IBD. I have read publications written by him explaining the use of Primal Defense in his Practice. He actually helped Jordan Rubin, the worst case of crohn's disease ever diagnosed, to recover using Primal Defense. The rest of his recovery was based on fermented foods, fruits and vegetables, and small amounts of raw goat kefir, beef, chicken and fish. He was in bed by 9PM every night, and practiced SR 3x a day. He gained back 80 pounds in 1 year. Just goes to show you how a good holistically-designed plan can get even the worst of health problems to reverse. Take care!
