Is this edema or what? - Dr Stoll?

Posted by nairam on July 07, 2003 at 16:48:28:

Hi Dr Stoll,

Please can you advise me. In the hot weather in particular my hands and fingers swell up. So much so that I have to take my rings off. Also, my legs and feet swell a bit too.

Do you think my heart isn't pumping enough to get rid of fluid? I am a 54 year old female, in the menopause, but otherwise reasonably healthy. I drink about 6 glasses of water a day and I eat a healthy diet - mainly organic. I eat salt, but I only eat Celtic Sea Salt. I take numerous vitamin and mineral supplements plus CQ10.

The reason I'm a bit worried is my mother had edema - her legs used to swell a bit and the doc said she needed water tablets because her heart wasn't pumping as it should. She was 81 then and when she took the water tablets, the edema went away.

Have I got a weak heart do you think?

Hi, Nairam.

I would first suggest the gentle use of a rebounder for about 10 minutes many times a day and let us know how you do.

Thanks Walt. I have a rebounder but I could not do it "many" times in a day as I have to go to work full time. I have to say I don't use it much but if I could retire I would do.

Can you tell me what the rebounding does? Thanks.

Thanks, Nairam.

What have you learned from the rebounding archives?

How many hours a week do you work? How many hours do you sleep? There are 168 hours in a week. If you work 40 hours and commute 10 hours and sleep 56 hours (8/day X 7 days) that still leaves you 62 hours a week (almost 10 hours a day) during which you can rebound for 10 minutes at a time many times.

Walt

OK Walt, I get the message. If there's something wrong you can make the time to put it right! Thanks.
