While this is not bothering me, my involuntary muscle twitching shortly after falling asleep, bothers my sleeping partner. This problem started in my legs, and now has moved into my arms. It does not seem to last throughout the night, but the muscle twitches are strong. Help? I eat a lacto-vegetarian diet, meditate, and live a yogic lifestyle. Take a multi, E, GS-500. Do you know what causes this condition, and how do I return to peaceful sleep? Thank you very much.

This is ALWAYS caused by total body bracing & is caused by your body's trying to relax muscles that have been tight all day. Sometimes a low intracellular magnesium can aggravate stuff like this (see the FAQ page about fibromyositis).
The only thing that will resolve this in the long run is the regular practice of skilled relaxation (also on the FAQ page). This is just an early warning sign. If you want to know more about the path your bodymind is trying to warn you about, read Dr Pelletier's classic: "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer".
