My First Rolfing Session....and It was Good

Posted by Maria Bliss [4.4] on July 31, 2004 at 11:54:09:

Yes, it was.

Kind of straightened me out. ;-)

No, really, I felt much looser and lighter in my body. She also got me to observe how I favour my right leg when I am standing.

I didn't feel much pain at all. She told me that as soon as I feel pain to let her know. I didn't really tell her though, I tried to breathe through the pain, and become one with the pain to try and release.

When she was working on my lower rib area, she told me that my cartilage on the left side felt different to the right. she enquired if I had ever fallen on it. The only thing I can remember was when I was about 11, I use to like to climb trees, and just sit up there and watch the world going by,and one time, I fell out of the tree, but can't really remember HOW or what position I fell in. I haven't had many falls in my life.
She also went onto say how kids these days don't take the simple pleausers in life like climbing trees etc etc. I remember such joy at doing that as a past time as a kid. It was one place I could be totally alone. (like a monkey in a tree ;)

So anywya, after the rolfing, I also noticed that my breathing was much easier, with no strain whatsoever.

It was good, and I plan to complete a session of 10 with it. I think it will be of good benefit.

Hey Bliss, can I ask how much she charges for a session? I had scheduled one, but then she told me that she charges 90 euro per session and recommends 10 sessions. I decided to take siberian ginseng instead! (and it's working ;)

She charged me 90dollars, but on the phone a few weeks back told me, 110 dollars.

I was there from 12.30pm to 2.30 pm, which I thought was very reasonalbe.

A friend of mine recommeneded her, and when I asked my friend if 110 dollars was too much for rolfing, she said it was average price.

I think I amgoing to get lots of benefit from it, and it will be worth the money.

oh yeah, there was nopressure on me to complete ten sessions by her. that's just my choice, thessa.

I don't think anyone should pressure you into doing that.

Uhhh the cartlidge could be from ANYTHING and someone saying "did you ever fall" is SURE to get a YES answer....be wary; however, if you felt good - go for it!

I felt very much at ease with this woman, and her rolfing technique.

She was patient, caring, made me as comfortable aspossible, and I never felt too much pain.

It feels right. ;-)

Oh no, she didn't pressure me. I just felt like it was crazy to spend 900 bucks on it, even though I'm sure it works! Maybe I will do it in the future.
