Unknown Pain

I'm hoping that you can direct me in alleving the pain that my husband has had for about 2 years. The pain that he has is under his right shoulder blade and when he bends even slightly forward, or walks more than 20 steps, the pain becomes excruciating for him. The pain then wraps around from the shoulder blade, under his arm and to the front of the right chest area. He says the pain is similar to the way your lungs feel after you have run in cold weather. The only relief he gets when this occurs is to lie flat on the floor, (no pillow) and in a matter of about 30 seconds the pain is gone, but always feels the knot as a dull ache. Sometimes the pain is so bad he throws up. After many doctor visits, that included a neurosurgeon, 2 pain management, 1 chiropractor and a neuro chiropractor, still there is no answer. He has had the following tests: 2 sets of x-rays, 2 MRI's, 1 CT scan, 2 Cat Scans, 1 emg, 1 mylogram, 1 ekg, and a bone scan. The results for these tests were all negative with the exception of some deterioration in a few disks in the spine. He has had 7 trigger point injections with no relief. He has tried to stretch with exercise but the pain gets so bad he has to quit. Needless to say he doesn't stretch much because the pain is so bad. He is on Norco to help stop the pain, but all it does is helps him to cope. Can you suggest something else we can do??

Thank you
