Thanks for the site.
I have an extreme case of rosacea. My mother, aunt, and grandmother also had it.
It seemed to have appeared about the time I was 40 and seemed to come with hot flashes.
I also have digestion problems. I wake up in the middle of the night with them. I often take pepto bismol to get back to sleep. How would I know if it's leaky gut?
I was tested and have sufficient zinc in my body. Is it possible that the zinc is not being processed? Could this be causing my stomach problems and, then causing the outbreaks on my face.
I'm going to an accupuncture clinic and, they are using meridian therapy. I'm currently taking a tonic for my lymph glands, a gentle drainage, and a digestion tonic. They've ordered me a tonic that is hcl prozyme. I'll start on it tomorrow.
Any suggestions?

Hi, Carole
You might want to go through the archives and read up on ginger root juice as I'm now doing along wiht LGS. You can gain access to it by inputting Ginger Root Juice or LGS into the search engine at top right portion of this post.
Tried to mae it easier, however, linkg might not work.

Hi Carol: I can empathize with you for sure. I have recently been battling with this nasty skin problem. I have gone the medical route to no avail and am now seeing accessing the 'TCM'- traditional chinese medicine. According to TCM Rosacea is termed 'heat sores' and is caused by an excess of heat and toxins in the body - namely the lung and stomach/spleen and is treated with herbs to bring the body back in balance. Attached is a great site that will explain this concept and treatment. I would be interested in corresponding with you to compare notes if you are willing.

Carole,
I have yet to see a case of rosacea that did not clear up by eliminating their C-RS. Of course, they could not have C-RS without first having LGS as well.
What have you learned from the rosacea, LGS and C-RS archives? See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

Dr. Stoll - just wondering if you are also familiar with chinese medicine and how they view Rosacea? I'm told that TCM views Rosacea as 'heat sores' and is mainly caused by an excess of heat and toxins in the body - namely the lung and stomach/spleen that manifests itself by a 'fire toxim' to the face - and is treated with herbs to bring the body back in balance. Could you commment on this? Thanks!

Hi, Diane.
I have enough trouble being an expert in western medicine. Have you looked at the rosacea archives?
I am not an expert in Chinese Medicine although I had a CM practitioner in my center for years and saw many remarkable solutions for things that MY medicine could not resolve.
See the Chinese Medicine archives.
Hope this helps.

I know this sounds harsh, but i've had great results on the rosacea with swabbing it with iodine, which I do at night, and swabbing it during the day with a solution (diluted) of food grade peroxide. It works for me.

Thanks, Laurie.
I would be VERY interested in hearing from anyone else who does this and their results (either way).
In MY experience only something done from the inside has had any permanent effect. If there is something that can be done from the outside--at least for some people--it would be a blessing.
