Hello Dr!
For almost 2 years now I've been busy scouring your b.b. and implementing your suggestions for pilonidal and sebaceous cysts. (as I'm blessed with both). The Essentials Oils have been a tremendous help. Concerning the pilonidal cyst, it has only flared up every couple of months and I've found that those hot compresses do wonders. In the evenings I'll rub some "black ointment" on the area and cover it with gauze, then wash it off in the morning.(black ointment is a "drawing" substance that really helps with the swelling/infection.) Has anyone else tried it? My flare ups go away within 3 days when I team it up with the compresses.
As for sebaceous cysts I'm not getting any new ones, and the old ones (a few on my scalp) aren't giving me any trouble so I've decided not to trouble them. My doctor was explaining that since the scalp can be a bloody area most surgeons will only remove one or two at a time... Just wondering if you felt that was true Dr?
Thanks for being so faithful to this bb... I'm sure many like myself have gotten great results without necessarily posting.
On a healthier path,
Decorum

Yes! The drawout salve works excellent for me....I discovered it about 2 years ago and within 3 days it is completely gone. I haven't had a flare-up in 1 year almost :) *knock on wood*
Good luck and it is great to hear you are dealing with yours.

Thanks, Decorum.
Congratulations for finding a better way to live with yor pilonidal problem and for preventing new sebaceous cysts!
The bloody scalp is true but I found that the epinephrine in most anestetics took care of the bleeding until the sutures could control it completely.

Nice to read a positive post like yours. I went with a friend who had five "wens" removed from her scalp all at one time. (I assume they are also sebaceous cysts.) She managed but had many stitches. She also had several reoccur. Just a little info for you.
