alternative remedies for pilonidal cysts

First of all I must say how wonderful it is to come across so much information on a topic that, for some reason, is difficult to get information about. I have had my cyst lanced twice over the last six years and put off having the full-fledged surgery. I am now 5 months pregnant and the
cyst has flared up again. I am really concerned because I will not be able to use anesthetic for lancing the cyst. My
gynecologist recommends I wait it out until it is infected. I was wonder if you had heard of any herbal, homeopathic, alternative treatments that keep the cyst from getting infected. I have been taking hot baths with tea tree oil which has kept it from getting infected but not reduced the swelling. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Carol

Hi, Carol.

Put your note with a title with Lisa's name in it. She says that she has a way to use tea tree oil to avoid surgery for this.

Hi Carol!!!!

If you are pregnant, please talk to your Dr. before trying the following treatment.

My name is Lisa and I have suffered with pilonidal cysts since I was 22. I recently found out that my father had one at ~age 30. My father had succes with having the cyst removed surgically... it has never returned and he is now 70.
I however did not have the same success. I had one "removed" surgically but it came back within 2 weeks. I have had problems for over 10 years with these painful (sometimes draining) cysts. I finally found something that has worked for me. It is called Zap-It. It is from a company called Melalueca Inc (1-800-282-3000). Zap-It contains both Tea Tree Oil and Salicylic Acid. I don't know if its the tea tree oil or the salicylic acid that gets rid of the cyst. I only know it works for me. I clean and dry the area thoroughly everyday and then I apply the Zap-It. (faithfully & everyday) You can get the product by calling (1-800-282-3000) and tell them that you want to be a direct customer. Again, if you are pregnant I don't know if you can use this product. Also, some people have had success just using the highest grade of Melaleuca Oil. You can also get this by calling (1-800-282-3000)
Good Luck
Lisa
