Thank you Dr. Stoll - steatocystoma hope

Dr. Stoll -
I really just wanted to say thank you for what you do here. I was referred to your site by a friend when I was feeling really down about my steatocystoma (tons of tiny cysts all over body, become infected, PAINFUL, scarring). Your suggestions regarding EFAs have really helped my condition. The cysts are so much smaller, and the ones I have don't seem to be getting infected as much. I also don't seem to get nearly as many new ones as I used to.

But best of all, I discovered someone who understands the impact that these kind of conditions have on people. So much of medicine seems to focus only on diseases that are fatal - what about the ones that make a person wish she could die sooner? I have so many horror stories, as I know many of the people on this BB have, with doctors that didn't know the answer, so they just threw an antibiotic at me, or worse, totally dismissed my concerns and told me to live with it. One doctor told me he didn't think I really knew how bad my back was so he took several pictures with a digital camera and gave them to me as a souvenir before telling me he could do nothing and sending me out the door. Another asked if I showered enough. (I think anyone with acne knows that we are probably actually the CLEANEST creatures on this planet.)

Sorry for the length. I just wanted you to know that you made a world of difference in my life. I was so scared that I would just keep getting more and more cysts until I was an ugly old monster that no one could love. Now I have hope - and the ability to control this condition until I find some magic laser to destroy the millions of cysts that remain from before.

Thanks again,
Hillary

PS I was also wondering how Lisa, another steatocystoma sufferer from the UK, has been doing. She was the first one I read about on the BB with this condition.

Thanks, Hillary.

Now you understand why I was willing to lose my license (to practice what I loved most in life), to do this advanced kind of healing.

Walt
