Hello Dr. Stoll-
I wish I had found this site five years ago before having surgery on a sebaceous cyst. But now, here's my problem. I had a sebaceous cyst in my ear lobe removed two times by different dermatologists and it is still there. Every few months it gets inflammed and then ruptures through the skin with blood and pus. Just today it has ruptured and I have applied neosporin and a bandaid and I'm still hopeful that somehow it will heal on its own and not require a third surgery. Is there anything besides surgery that I can do to help it heal on its own. I have no faith in the surgeon's knife at this point. Thanks. Damian

Unfortunately, Damian, more surgery is probably your only option.
However, now that this has happened, it will take a VERY specialized surgeon to deal with it.
I would get copies of all my records, related to this, and see a good plastic surgeon about removal and reconstruction if needed.
Let us know what you learn and how you do.
Walt
