Hi
I'm not sure if this is the place to post this information, but I've looked round the site and couldn't seem to find a better place.
When I was around 20 years old one large sebaceous cyst began growing on my scrotum. A year or two later this was joined by another, and another, and then around 10 others. I had an operation to remove these, where they were simply cut out of me. These specific cysts have never recurred.
However, closer examinations revealed that there were hundreds of small ones all growing slowly and (presumably) one day to be as large as the others (which had grown to be about pea-sized). Sure enough, they grew and grew and there was soon no skin on my scrotum which wasn't infested with them. I was very unhappy and tried squeezing them and ignoring them but nothing worked. i began buying some essential oils but i couldn't afford to do so properly (especially not for something which still seems a gamble to me).
i booked myself in to have laser surgery to remove as many as possible, resigning myself to the fact that i would probably be doing so yearly. the laser surgery cost nearly £3000.
however, in the months leading up to the laser surgery i stopped smoking and drinking caffeine. within a matter of weeks it seemed that the cysts were softening and flattening. i thought i was imagining it, but when i lapsed and smoked again they seemed to get worse again. so i stopped again, and once again they seemed to flatten. also, some began to become poppable, as if the insides were returning to liquid.
after having around 150 removed in the one-hour laser surgery operation, i have been left with absolutely minimal scarring (my girlfriend is unaware that i have ever had this problem). and, none have ever come back. well, that's not entirely true. every so often i get one that appears more like a spot than a cyst. shameful to admit it, but i put a needle through these (they're that close to the surface) and cut out the cyst. it doesn't hurt, though of course it's hardly reccomended standard practice.
so, all in all, i'm not saying i have a cure or a solution. but, if you have multiple sebaceous cysts (or steatocystoma multiplex) i highly reccomend giving up caffeine and cigarettes. it won't remove all the ones that are there, but you might get lucky like me and have it stop new ones appearing. if that's the case, then it makes saving up for laser surgery a lot less miserable.
wanted to share this information for those who, like me, trawled through site after site on the internet looking for any glimmer of hope that there might be something you can do.

Thanks, Bill.
Although this will not work for everyone it certainly is worth a try.
