I just had my pilonidal cyst drained (2nd time since December)and still had heat, redness and inflamation 2 days after. Rather than going back to the dr. for more draining, I chose to try something new. My family has long used "Fels Naptha Soap" for treating skin infections of all types.
This soap is sold as a laundry aid. I was told it contains lye. This substance is AWESOME for drawing out the infections! I first had a hot compress on the area until it was very warm. Then, I had a warm and wet gauze pad which I rubbed on the yellow soap bar until it was thick with soap and I scrubbed the area and layed it on there for about 20 minutes. By the next morning, my inflamation was completely gone and the area wasn't sore at all.
I don't know if anyone else has tried this but I'd like to know. This stuff really worked for me!

Thanks, Lorraine.
Scientifically, this could work for a lot of people! Certainly worth a try.
