Relief From Seborrheic Dermatitis

Walt

I had posted a while back about my SD when it was really bad and driving me insane with the itching, and of course, I would scratch and leave my scalp red raw and stinging. I had even tried the apple cidar/vinegar to try and relieve the itch, but it did absolutley nothing. Itss so damn hard not to scratch when it itches. And I absolutely hate it when others around me tell me not to scratch! Soooo annoying. How can I not?! Please. I would have to have my hands tied behind my back. Scratching is really like an orgasm of the skin! heh.
So, anyway, I incorporated two flax seed oil caps a day for the last two weeks. Almost after the first day, my scalp improved. Less itching, inflammation, scaling etc. What a relief!
I was most impressed with it. My hair feels healthier too, but has a ways to go, as its been so dry. Probably from my body being EFA deficient. I dont have any SD left on my face since starting the flax, and on my scalp its almost gone, only the occasional dry spot.
I was thinking that maybe Evening primrose oil may work better for this than flax?

Oh, another thing. I took a chance on taking the flax seed oil caps as it was one of the products that had been recalled by the fraudulent Pan company here in Australia. It was not an urgent recall, so I thought I would chance it. Anyway, I havent had any untoward reactions from the flax, but every now and then it repeats on me, and I get this nasty fishy taste. Gross! :(

So methinks that maybe Pan used some fish oils in their flax seed oil caps, although there is none printed under the ingredients.

I have light case of psoriasis and flax seed oil caps helped me GREATLY. very obvious and quick results. Ive used evening primrose on some dry places before with good results but I cant speak for what it would do for your condition. Have you tried Chlorine filters for your shower? chlorine can really aggravate and dry out the skin. some are much more sensitive than others.

Thanks, Maria.

Listen to Wellbeing. The omega 3s (flax and fish oil) seem to have more to do with skin conditions than the omega 6s (evening primrose, borage and black current oils) but they CAN work together.

Now, the real question is: why do not practicing physicians routinely recommend this natural , safe and effective approach?

Thanks, Wellbeing.

I also notice that when I use a different conditioner on my hair, espeicaly the highly perfumed ones, it aggravates my skin. some of it must get on my forehead when I wash my hair, as my forehead gets red in some patches, and eventually eases off again.

I notice on my bottle of flax it says to take 2 caps twice per day, and I have only been taking 2 caps altogether per day. May increase it, but so far very happy with my progress. gosh cant believe I didnt try it before, and I hve been suffering so much with my scalp. need to listen to walt more, and pay attention I guess. :)

Thanks, Maria.

I think it is because it would open the door to anyone being able to recommend it and that would eat into the monopoly. Besides, if their colleagues heard they were recommending something nutritional, they would be in danger of losing their licenses.
