Hi, my boyfriend has sleep apnea. He'd like to explore surgery, but I'm trying to discourage that, favoring wellness. The archives suggest *one year* of SR -- that's a long time! C-Pap mask is immediate and effective yet cumbersome and certainly not a permanent solution. Is there anything else (besides losing weight) that can be done? Thanks.

Hi, Sleep.
ANYTHING other than SR is just "putting black tape over the warning light" and, without the warning, he will pay a much larger price later in life.
Why not start serious SR and, while waiting for it to cure the problem, try all the gimmicks that may well work for a while?
Walt
