Another "Pneumothorax" and ongoing "Liver Signifigant Symptoms"
leads me to wonder . . . . . Is there something underlying like "Alpha 1".
I've suspected sluggish liver problems for some time now. I've vowed to
do the liver flush. I had JUST recieved my "Phos-30 Drops" (the method I
choose to do the flush) and had a pretty bad pneumothorax. I'm still
taking easy to let the lung recover. Had it about a week ago and the
breathing and pain is almost resolved. I'm due to see my pulmonary
doctor for a follow up in 1 1/2 weeks and most likely a catscan.
I'm a little hesitant to flush with a current partial collapse but don't feel
I'll ever resolve these until I at least try. I've recently read into Alpha 1
and it seems wise to test for this. Problems symptomatic of the Alpha 1
I'm in parallel to are: Chronic Weight Loss / Underweight (easy to loose,
never put it back), Elevated Liver Enzymes, Lung and Breathing
problems (including recurrent pneumothorax's over the past few years),
'm the right Age Bracket. There are a few more minor symularites but I
mentioned the main.
I STILL want to flush, especially with experiencing liver area discomfort.
My current pneumo is under control and I'd like to try, however I don't
know if the Flush, especially with the Phos-30 Drops could be something
Negative on the liver. Especially if there is a disease involved.
Thanks,
Chris

I meant to mention too . . . .
I know I've come across how Gallstones can cause Chest Pains. But my
question is, if I'm having lung problems such as pneumothorax, could a
hampered liver cause something as severe?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi, Chris.
Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency ia a well established (though not common) cause of chronic lung problems. It is especially linked to those smokers who do not know they have this genetic condition.
I still tnink your best bet at this stage is TOTALLY avoiding any exposure to smoke. Have you been tested for this deficiency?

Dr. Stoll,
No, I've yet to been tested. I have a follow up in 1 week with my
pulminologist for my last pneumothorax episode. This is the first
diagnosed pneumothorax after having them for over 5 years. I've had
about 5-8 big SP episodes, most worst in pain levels than this last,
thoughout but this is the first time diagnosed (pretty sad huh). I've gone
through docs and docs and ER's. They say Panic, Anxiety, Muscular,
MVP (after finding MVP in my charts, although they'll also say it's
symptomless as you know, I feel they just use it as a cop-out).
I intend to insist on a Alpha 1 test. I do know he's planning to do a
catscan, which is good but I've only recently discovered the Alpha 1. It
doesn't bother me that much as a factor, I mean the noted Alpha 1
symptoms also parellel the sluggish liver symptoms due to stones and
such. I'd just like to rule it out with all the lung stuff going on.
I'll let you know my results (after the 18th)
My main concern is I feel more impelled to start a liver flush ASAP but
am a little hesitant with the possibilities of further liver problems.
I'll let you know either way.
Thanks,
Chris
