Walt and everyone,
Just wanted to post this to say that I made it thru the first month, and what I did that helped. I increased my daily intake of B vitamins, drank alot of extra water each day, and used nicorette gum and a nicotrol inhaler in the first week. I also indulged myself with whatever I happened to be hungry for (luckily I could get away with this because I am very thin). But by far what helped the most was the skilled relaxation.
I think I will always be "at risk" for smoking (like an alcoholic is always an alcoholic even if they haven't had a drink in years), but I feel I have a better chance this time of being successful than I ever did in the past. I have more energy now, food tastes SOOOO much better, and I have put on a few much-needed pounds. I also can BREATHE so much better now.
Walt, I want to thank you especially. It is because of you (and your book) that I am on the path toward wellness. I believe this is what enabled me to quit. I currently have two legs of the stool going (skilled relaxation and exercise) and plan to add the third leg (diet) after the holidays. Thank you so much for your continued support!
Namaste` Sara

Thanks, Sara.
Your testimonial will help others do the same thing. Statistically, all people have to do is the SR (effectively) and within 6 months 74% have stopped smoking even though that goal was not in their mind when they started.
Congratulations on your progress along the wellness path! YOU deserve the benefits since YOU put in the work. Just think of how many people have the same information but do not give it a try! Of course, there is no money in it except for the person doing the SR & stopping the smoking.
As you know, you are still at risk--although less every day you abstain. Let us know how you do!
