Hi Sensitive,

I think there is a 12-step program for cigarettes. Nicotine anonymous or something like that. There are also websites where people can get help, do a search.

Best wishes,
Jan

This isn't a "cure all" but helps--Vit C seems to lessen the cravings.

It depends on where the true dependancy is; it is psychological, physiological or both? The root(s) have to be determined to get a true remedy.

At the Well Being Ranch we have used an oxygen tank and hooked people up to in when they have a craving for cigarettes and it takes the craving away at the time. We noticed that really what a person is craving is a deep breath of air and when there is emotional stress one certainly does not breath very deeply. This is why they have that 12 step program for getting off cigarettes;
Vegetable juice is another way to help a person for a smoker does not like it very well as a rule and it is because there body is so acid from the cigarettes. However if they drink vegetable juice and have a breath session with someone and or do lots of deep breathing and perhaps trampoline clearing toxins and work on the emotions behind it, one has a good chance; Change the P.H. around helps a lot! You can bet a smoker is to acid; I've known some people do Lobellia- it is called Indian Tabacco and it has helped;
Really the truth of the matter is a person has to want to get off and become willing to be miserable for 3 days and hang around non smokers, not smokers!
I had a friend who hired three people to prayer for them 3x a day and see them as a non smoker, now these folks never had smoked a day in there life, so they has a non smoking consciousness and then he just got off and went through the withdrawal;
Good Luck to your friend! Some people have used accupunture or the Laser treatment and had good success.

Buy Allen Carr's book "the easy way to stop smoking" I quit a 35 years habit just by reading it. This is the only way to quit.
Hope this helps.

Your friend should use the "tapering off" technique in a way that doesn't rush the process (smoking fewer cigarettes every day), and he should before going to bed drink a glass of orange juice with a heaping teaspoon of cream of tartar mixed in. This forms an acid that leaches the nicotine out of your system and takes a lot of the pain out of starting to quit.

But what your friend needs to understand is that the REAL test is the psychological quitting. For about two years after quitting, he will feel somewhat emotionally "washed out" (kind of grey and blah) because of the way addiction affects the brain. Even after that period, every time something bad happens in his life, he's going to have to be willing to SAY NO TO CIGARETTES if he wants his quitting to last. Failure to do so when life tests you is why so many who have quit end up relapsing.
