Neck - Soft Tissue Injury ?

When I syand, jump or cough, I get what feels like an electric shock in both arms all the way to fingers. Same with clearing throat.

I had this problem for 3 months then i had an accident and hit bottom of pool. No arm leg movement for 20 minutes and just the worst pins & needles. Feeling came back but skin was hypersensitive ie paramedics could not touch skin (almost as bad as shingles) anyway after Xrays, Cat Scan & Ultrasound, nothing was found and the assumption is a pinched nerve & soft tissue damage - this is 3 months later and still i get "shocks" when walking etc

anyone haVE ANY IDEAS (MY NECK CRACKS A LOT WHEN I TURN MY HEAD but the doc didn't worry)

Look into "Neurocranial Restructuring" and "Prolotherapy"

Hi, John.

After this long, your injury was more serious than anyone thought in the beginning when everone was doing wishfull thinking.

Listen to Helping You.

Also, eliminating bracing would give your injury a lot better chance of finally healing--which, if you do not have another injury--I think is likely.

Unfortunately, even if you avoid most of the situations that might cause another injury, some cannot be prevented (getting hit by a drunk driver, for example) and an injury on top of your residual could be very serious.

Alexander technique and SR would be a VERY good idea. See the bracing archives.

Let us know how you do.

Walt

Another thought, in addition to those of Doc Stoll and HY -- this could be early-stage RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy). RSD is cureable in the first 3-6 months and not at all thereafter. Docs use nerve blocks to calm the sympathetic nervous system and reverse the problem.
I recommend you get an evaluation by a competent pain specialist who KNOWS about RSD. Not all do. If necessary, and if you can travel, consider seeing Dr. Nelson Hendler at Mensana Clinic near Baltimore. He is a world expert on RSD. He has a website, below. You can also do a google search to see if your symptoms match those of RSD.
