spinal fusion C-5 and C-6

Posted by Bo, J. Oscar Moore on January 08, 1999 at 02:12:09:

Just a few weeks ago I required a fusion of bone form my right hip, which included usind a plate and 4 screws, after being shot in throat, I am in Law Enfocement. The bullet had logded between C5 and C6 breaking bone fragment which nicked my spinal cord. I am still in halo unit. I also received wound to left shoulder blade. 9mm slug was left in shoulder blade. The day after the fusion doctor were force to remove a large porton of skull bone above the top of my spine, they said because of swellowing of the brain nad brain stem area. Two days later I had a massive heart attack. I am now having seizures, which are severe, medication has improved the seizures, how ever I have little to no felling on the left side of my body. The pain is unbearable, Doctors have now put me on several pain medications to include 100mg of Duragic patches. I am in an Halo unit with a hard collar. I know the patches are addictive, how other may I control the pain. I have not slept since returning home without the use of 10 mg Valuim. What can I expect in the future, just control pain?

A while back my boss mentioned her philosophy that "We must put Life itself ahead of Career."

I was awake in the middle of the night, I guess worrying about my job, due to very little current coverage and uncertain opportunities to find/create more before the Layoff axe falls (to me and to many in defense work). When I saw your post, I was struck by how clear-headed and lucid you are in the face of such extraordinary events and such pain. You're obviously a good man, Bo.

It is not often that I'm moved to do unrequested healing sessions for people in this discussion board (or elsewhere), but I was moved by your question/request. Signing off from this board and shutting off the computer now to do a remote healing session in your behalf. When you feel better, do drop into my web site (link below) for an explanation what I'm talking about and for other healing information.

Bo, this is RocketHealer Jim++
Sending you Love and Light, Peace and Joy,
Rest and Release,
for your Greatest Good

I do not really know how to convey to you how sorry I am for what you are going through. I could not consider doing your job, I do not have the presence of mind nor the courage. You put your life on the line for people everyday and call it your job. I am so grateful you and others are willing to do this, I am so sorry you are now suffering because of it. I am very glad you have written this bulletin board. I feel Dr. Stoll and others can help. Thank you for sharing, please keep us posted.

Dear Bo,

Your best bet for now (and the future) is for you to become a student of skilled relaxation & imagery.

The reasons for this would fill several books. Suffice it to say that this would make your life not only pain free but greatly improve the quality of life you experience.

The resources for learning this have been discussed many times right nere on this BB. Take a look at the archives.

Until you get this under way, which will take you 6-12 months of practice, You would be wise to see a local Therapeutic Self-hypnosis Instructor in consultation.

Let us kwow how you do and, if you have more questions as you learn write again.

Walt
