I had a "ray cage" spinal fusion done on July 16, 1998 on my L4 and L5 discs and I seem to be doing pretty good. I still have some post operative pain but not too bad. I went back to work as a hairdresser 3 months after surgery. I hope you have good luck. I also had a good neurosurgeon. I would recommend that to you. I'm a little shaky about an orthopedic surgeon working on my spinal cord.

I am having a posterior lumbar interbody fusion with the Ray Cage in a few weeks. I concur, a neurosurgeon is the only doc I'd let do this. I'm having two levels fused (L3-4 and L4-5). After surgery, I'm to wear a TLSO (spine brace) for at least 12 weeks. Any personal experiences related to "helpful hints from Heloise" would be greatly appreciated.
