disc rupture

Posted by Rusty Goger on January 28, 1999 at 21:07:11:

I am a 43 year old male that has had disc surgery on my L5-S1 this was back in August 1996. December of 1998 I reinjured the same disc with another rupture. My surgeon said that he could do the same procedure that he did in 1996. I feel if given time it might heal itself with excersize, anti imflamitories, am I just dreaming or are there other non surgical methods I should consider. Rusty

The problem is that surgery does nothing for the original cause of the problem.

Chiropractic and skilled relaxation are your best options in my opinion.

Dear Rusty,

I had the same thing & didn't have surgery (25 years ago). I have been fine for 24 1/2 years.

Go to the archives for this BB and read everyting you can find about spinal conditions that are commonly surgerized. THEN, if you still have questions, write again.

Walt
