C-Spine Fusion and Bulging Discs

Posted by Terri Moore on February 20, 1999 at 21:13:32:

I have had a c-spine fusion last year and continue to have 2 bulging discs in lower lumbar region. Was told i had a herniated disc also at the time of surgery and was advised not to have surgery because my motion would be severely limited. Had 2 discs fused in neck at the time. I am told one year later while complaining of neck, head and shoulder pain that my herniated disc is better (all by itself)..Is this possible and can my pain be a side-affect from the fusion and can't these bulging discs cause me to have chronic pain from sitting for long spells and during sleep? And can a herniated disc heal by itself?

Dear Terri,

Go to the archives and read everything you can find about spinal conditions frequently surgerized. You will find that there are MUCH better alternatives than surgery.

I, personally, had 5 bulging lumbar discs and was told that surgery was my only option. I learned SR and diet and they just went away. That was more than 20 years ago, I never had surgery & I have been pain free for 20 years. See the archives.

THEN, if you still have questions, write again.

Walt
