In June 1998. I had had a fusion on 5-6c. Not knowing that if I was to use my own bone I would have had a better chance at the heeling prosses. I did fantastic after the surgery. I was up and around the next day with the usual limitations that came with the surgery. Two years later I was haveing some pain, so of course I went back to the same doctor. Going into the surgery I was in high spirits. I woke up the next mornins in such pain, I just could not handle it. Deep down I knew something was wrong but did not know what. When I was suppose to go home, they were not getting me or my stuff ready. I started to get angry, not knowing why. About an hour later my doctor came in and informed me they did the wrong area. It seems they did 4-5c. Now they were informing me they had a room waiting to do the correction. I was totaly dumb founded and scared. I went threw the 3rd surgery. Waking up again in such pain I started to wonder. When I went home, the pain came with me. This was June 2000. Now we are in March 2002 and still in major pain. I have aplied for diability and was refused 3 times and now it's in the courts and I am do to go back into surgery at the end of this month. I am seeing a different doctor and he knows my history. I'm scared but I have gone threw 2 epidural injections, triger point injections, 2 theropies, bio-feedback, and pain medication. I have lost some feeling in my R & L side and I am loosing strength in my R arm and both legs. I feel there is no plase for me to go now. I am only 36 years old, 2-12 year old kids and a husband. This is putting major stress in my house, even though everyone understands. My socalled wifely duties are almost null and void. I have also tried to committing suicide. I cann't work, the money is low and I see no end in sight.

Hi Barbara,
Sounds like things have been horrible for you and your family. You hear about these terrible things happening with surgeries. I will be praying for you!

Hi, Barbara.
Now you know why I donate an average of 4 hours a day to this website!
This kind of crap only happens because of the allopathic monopoly which MUST stop!
Don't you wish you had known the information just in the archives about spinal problems, BEFORE you had your first surgery?
EVEN at this late date, learning how to eliminate your bracing, practicing Alexander Technique, practicing SR and learning self-hypnosis would be of great benefit to you.
See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.
Walt

oh wow ... sorry to hear about that ...
I hope you got some compensation out of the wrongful surgery.
my girlfriend had her wisdom teeth pulled out; this resulted in her having a numb tongue on 1/2 the side of her mouth. I cant imagine having a doctor do a fusion on the wrong vertebra
