Dear Dr. Stoll
Since my surgery (I am 9 weeks post-op), I have pain laying in a bed flat. I sleep in a hospital bed with legs raised.
The pain in my legs is incredible. They took bone from my right hip for the surgery, and placed approx. 6 Pedicle screws in the vertebrae. I thought my pain was supposed to be gone or at least going, or better. I'd even settle for tolerable. Am I not very realistic about the recovery period? I have good days and very bad days. How long do you think I will have to sleep in the hospital bed? I haven't been able to get any testimonials on this subject that would give me hope or.........
I would appreciate your input. Also I failed to mention that it was strictly a back incision.
Thank you again. Robin

Hi, Robin.
Since you have read the spinal archives, you know that 1/3rd of spinal surgeries get better, 1/3rd get worse and 1/3rd stay the same!
Surely the doc who did the surgery was paid enough that he can spend the time to fully explain and answer your questions! Since every case is different--especially post-operatively--he is the only onw who really can.
It is still not too late to get benefits from the options described in the archives. It is just that it will take more effort and time, for less results, now that you have the surgical injury as well.
