One reason for dizziness during SR

Posted by Mindy on July 09, 2003 at 19:04:00:

In the book - Staying Well with Guided Imagery by Belleruth Naparstek:

Page 215. "If you are a generally healthy person" your dizziness "means you aren't yet used to moving back and forth from a regular waking state to a deep altered state and then back again."

I have also read on various web sites that dizziness can also be a result of moving from beta to alpha to theta too quickly AND/OR getting accustomed to accessing your right brain when you are so used to being left brain.

Belleruth does recommend "during your imagery, you intermittently turn your attention to the feel of your feet on the floor or your back against the chair. This concrete reminder of the boundaries of your body and the physical support of your surroundings will help hold you steady, and modulate the effects of the motion sickness generated by your traveling imagination."

Hope this helps. Stick with the SR, it is so worth it. I went from 135% change in my skin resistance to 395% in a month. It wasn't smooth sailing though. I had days where I was spacey, dizziness, anxious and some days where I felt like I had a cold but I could tell it wasn't a real cold. Drink a lot of water! That helps flush out toxins you are generating by this unloading.

Hope this helps, Mindy
