"TM, as with most systems of sings+symbols+activities designed to draw us ever closer to Ourselves has its adherents and its naysayers. Most of the Kundalini Yoga teachers I know find that TM is entriely too mental and draws too much energy into the upper chakras without rooting and balancing the lower ones. And the TM students smile and nod and go on levitating! You mileage may very......
careful careful - we are trained to think that anything worth having must come at a price -"

My question:
How does one go about balancing the lower chakras, if practising TM?

Hi, Miss.
Broken record: This question is only competently addressed by a kundalini expert. What did you learn from the contact in NY?

Thanks, Walt. Sorry bout the broken record thing. :)
I did try to get the number for the Kundalini research foundation in New York, NY, but the American Directory operator I spoke to says there is NO listing for them there.
He did search the surrounding areas and came up with
the "Kundalini Yoga Centre" in Manhattan. Maybe this is same one? It was the only one he could find with "Kundalini" as part of the business name.
Anyway, I am plan to call tonight.

Thanks, Miss.
My listing was 20 years old. Let me know what you learn and I will change my listing.

Why don't you try Tantra yoga. That should probably effect your lower chakras too, I'd think. I've been contemplating going to a practitioner myself to try it out.

Walt
I had the hardest time last night trying to reach the Kundalini yoga Centre.
First of all, I had forgotten the number at work, so tried to contact our overseas operator here to get it. What an experience?! I am amazed at how RUDE operators in my own company can be. Unbeileveable!
I wasnt able to get the number at all as there was an overload of calls to the MCI directory operators. I think because of the isabel hurricane on the East Coast.
I finally tracked down their number via the internet, except that when I called, the number is disconnected. (sigh)
I am going to try the op again this morning, and see what is going on. Maybe the number on the net is an old one.
I will update you as ssoon as I find out.
Ciao~!

I never thought of Tantra yoga. That would be interesting too. But I kinda got my heart set on learning Kundalini yoga right now, if I can ever find a teacher out my way.

Take a look at this

My best friend is learning chakra balancing, and uses me from time to time as her guinea pig. I defintiely notice a difference after she has worked on me. I feel more energetic, and we also experiment with the chakra balancing to test its authenticity, which has been very enlightening. She found my base chakra was way out of balance, overdominant. She also uses colour to help balance out the chakras. The thing is chakra seems to go out of balance quite easily, as the next time I saw her, it was out again.
Have you ever had a chakra balancing performed on your, R?

Not that I am aware of, Bliss. I've had a Reiki session once, but I didn't notice anything (during or after).

I also never noticed much effect with Reiki.
Chakra healing seems to have a very positive effect on me.
Btw, thanks for the echomagnet. So far its working really well. :)

Would you describe the chakra balancing?
I'd also like to know what you have used the echomagnet for and how.

Hi Walt
I dont seem to be having much luck finding a Kundalini yoga teacher here.
I spoke with an American operator about the Kundalini Research Foundation in Darien Connecticut, as per the link, and there is NO listing for that organization there either.
So I tried to call the listing I had found on Broadway, Manhattan, NY. That was the "Kundalini Yoga East", not specifically the Kundalini Research Foundation, but I thought they may have some ideas.
I called last night, and all I got was an answering machine quoting times for yoga classes, without even the option of leaving a message, which wasnt much help.
I had another idea though. I am joining a Psychic Development Circle on Thursday night, and will ask the teachers there. I think they would know of, or be able to put me in touch with the relevant people.

Thanks, Miss.
I am truly astounded that you are having such a hard time with this.
I will really be interested to find out if all this will be worth while.
Namaste`

And I am truly frustrated trying to track someone down here. That first night drove me NUTZ with the isabel hurricane~! If its worth it, I will surely let you know. For now, its going on the backburner. Although I am still going to find out IF there is a teacher out here in these parts, and later when I have more time on my plate, will take it up then.

Hi Miss Bliss,
Have you tried asking around at health food stores, metaphysical churches, metaphysical bookstores, etc. for leads on kundalini yoga teachers?
Best wishes,
Happygal
