SR WORKS

Posted by Kim [346.57] on March 03, 2004 at 09:18:11:

Dr Stoll, I'm just updating at the end of my six months of twice-daily SR (I use a yoga nidra CD) hoping to inspire those who are skeptical. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd have the results I do now. I had horrible skin that the derms basically could do NOTHING with but throw bottles of minocycline at me. I was senstive to heat (warm water, the sun) and cold (wind, air, water) and could not wear makeup or put anything (soap, sunscreen) on my face for 20 months! that is almost two years. Imagine the stress buildup i was dealing with. anyway, i found this site, made a commitment and belive me there were days when i thought this isn't going to work. Dr. SToll even has said -- you don't have to believe in it, just do it. But now i believe in it. Get THIS! i am now wearing a light sunscreen and makeup for the first time in almost two years. THis week, i tried it and i had no reaction. So look at what SR has done. It's amazing.

HEre is the one thing I'm still dealing with. I seem to get these awful bumps along the jawline, the chin and usually on the face around my ears. They are not pimples, not pusfilled but hard and red and painful. Some have left tiny red mark scars. I'll have three say for a month (it takes that long or longer for them to disappate) and then nothing again for another couple of weeks. I used to think it was heat from exercising but it's kind of hard to predict. THinking it was virus like i did two separate 14 day periods of Ester C. Does this sound like a virus? What do you suggest?
Once again thank you so much for the wisdom you share on this site. I look forward to the day that i am discharging only 24 hours' worth of past stress instead of years.
Kim.

Congratulations Kim on your success!
It's great testimonials like this that inspire people like myself to get back into it again.
I purchased the Centerpoint program about 6 months ago. I used it for about 3 months then I slacked off and haven't used it since.

Hi Kim,

Great testimonial, and I'm so glad you are doing so much better! Would you be willing to let us use your testimonial in the book Dr. Stoll and I are writing? Please e-mail me so we can communicate about it.

Thanks,

Thanks, Kim!

Now that you have done this much I am sure you think it is worth the effort. Congratulatioins for having come this far on faith.

What you are describing is localized dysautonomia.

You will probably have to add aerobic exercise and a whole foods diet to your SR to finally finish this up.

Let us know how you do.

Namaste`

Walt

Hi Walt,

Do you know of any good reading material about dysautonomia? All I have been able to find over the past two years is some websites about "familial dysautonomia" which does not seem to be the same thing at all.

Books or info for lay people or medical professionals ...anything?

Thanks,
Jan

Hi Maz,

It's not necessarily that it didn't work. I think I just expected too much out of it too quickly and became bored with it. It's hard for me to sit there for a full hour sometimes. This time around, I'm only going to listen for a half hour at a time until I think I'm ready to go for the full hour. It was also hard for me to get up early before work in the morning. I would often fall asleep during the session.
My plan this time is to come home from work and workout for 30 minutes then directly after my workout, listen to the dive for a half hour. I should at least get something out of it over a period of time.
