SR - how many on this site are actually doing it?

Posted by jane [1676.21] on April 26, 2004 at 07:11:03:

Sometime when I read down the long lists of ailments and people trying various supplements and remedies and not getting anywhere, it is very discouraging. It got me wondering, how many people who post hear are actually following the main premise of Walt's protocol. How many are doing the PWFD, along with SR and aerobics? How many are just doing SR (and have had it certified), and how long have they been doing it for? I am getting the impression that maybe not the many people are actually doing the most highly recommended things, but instead are looking for more quick fixes in pill/supplement form. I hope I haven't offended anyone, because I'm sure there are people here that are doing the wellness program, but curious how many.

Practise SR/meditation consistently. (on occasion, may only get one session in per day, but in general twice a day)

Exercise = rebounding (once to twice a week), and
about to begin Ashtanga yoga class

Practise basic principles of Wholefoods diet, after being on the anticandida/PWFD diet for over a year.

I find SR/meditation makes the biggest improvement in my health on all levels.

Did you have your SR certified through biofeedback? What kind of benefits have you noticed from it so far, and how long have you been doing it for?

Hey Stuart. How long have you been doing this program of diet, SR and exercise for? Did you notice vast improvements with it or have you still had to resort to other things to improve your health? Are you the same person who just did the liver flush? Also, did you have you SR certified through biofeedback?

Hey Jane

Ive been doing SR for a few months now and have noticed a big change in my mental well being and stress levels.
I started skilled relaxation for suspected costochondritis but have since been told i do not have it and so am undergoing further tests to find out what is going on.
However having said that i will continue to use SR as i believe it helps me to have a clearer head and makes me feel good about myself. I have not had boi fedback and am not bothered as i know i have made a considerable improvement within myself and feel different so it must be working right!
As far as exercise goes i have always been athletic i.e weight lifting, running, cycling but as my chest/back problems got worse i could not physically do any of them and i became depressed. That is where the SR helped me a lot and i picked myself up and started running/jogging again as that does not aggrevate my problem as much as weight lifting etc.
Diet wise ive had problems with allergies to dairy,wheat/gluten yet im not sure of the causes of these allergies hence me undertaking the liver flush this last weekend,as of saturday i am now called health freak man by my girlfriend! she thinks im crazy and tells me so as she eats her pizza and swigs her coca cola but thats up to her, i like my new healthy life style and will stick with it as i know it is good for me and im not even tempted by junk food anymore,in fact i think its disgusting and looking at all the grease on the bottom of that pizza box yesterday made me wanna puke.
On the whole i still think its too early to say whether the stool protocol will rid me entirely of these ailments but i know i feel better and am looking forward to my next 45 min SR session today.

Hi Jane,

I've been doing all three legs of the wellness protocol for about 2-1/2 years with SR (certified) for 3 years. Still working up to 3-times a week aerobics but at least doing some exercise every day which keeps me feeling wonderful. I also really appreciate the diet and won't ever go back to eating other than whole foods except for an occasional treat.

The three-legged stool has totally turned my health around where previously I thought there was no hope for improvement. I was barely functioning before and now I just keep getting better and better. In addition to the 3LS, I have been doing stretching, taking some supplements, and am venturing into detox. However taking supplements and doing detox without practicing the 3LS first would probably not have helped my health condition. I was too weak.

Best wishes,
Jan

Hi Maria,

No machine for sale. I keep trying to get one on e-bay but I'm not willing to pay very much since I don't really need it, so I never win the auctions.

I just went to a practitioner for one session. She hooked me up to the EEG and GSR simultaneously and I learned everything I needed to know. It cost $60.

Good luck with your continuing SR practice, matey! :o)

Best wishes,
Jan

I have been doing SR for nearly two years now. I did it twice a day including weekends for the first year and do it every day I am at work now, during the lunch period. About a year ago I incorporated drumming into my daily routine purely by coincidence and have found that it has similar stress reducing qualities to those of SR.
A few months ago I started learning Spanish at the university level and have found that my drumming seems to improve as my comprehension level for Spanish increases. I assume similar areas of the brain play a critical role in both activities. During the past two years my diet has substantially improved as well because of a new found interest in vegetable gardening. I don't know where the inspiration came from, but I suspect SR. A year and a half ago I built my first 4' x 4' box for raised bed gardening and planted tomatoes and peppers. Now I have 8 boxes and produce an ever changing array of fresh vegetables all year round. I've also transformed a good chunk of my backyard into a butterfly garden with different perrenial and annual flowers in bloom through most months of the year. Oregon Snow Peas, Swiss Chard and Leaf Lettuce are a mainstay of my diet right now. Tomatoes, peppers and onions are just down the road and my dill and fennel look like dense bushes. I make my own compost and everything is organic. I have turned my crippled, ever worsening condition around and am currently in the process of digging boulders out of my backyard so I can build a fish pond. Two years ago I couldn't put my shoes on without help and now I'm throwing fifty pound rocks around and trying to figure out how to excise some from the dirt that are over 2000 lbs. I may need to find some help for those, but who knows, with continued SR I might be able to figure out a way to do it on my own.
I never had SR certified but I know I'm getting there because I lose sense of space and time, though never consciousness, during every session. About the time I realise I am unaware of my hands or feet the session is nearly over. It is something I look forward to and it is never a chore that I feel I must do. I spent years trying different supplements for extended periods but now vitamin C is the only one I take and even that is hit or miss. I can't say that I follow the rest of Walt's protocol but, for me at least, SR alone seems to be doing the trick. The biggest improvement, the most important change, has been developing a total indifference to the daily aches and pains that wax and wane. I no longer pay them any mind and as a result they have little effect on my current existence. I've come to grips with aging, something I thought I would never be able to do.

jane,

You will find both..Those who do SR and it has worked for them and those who tried it and it didn't work..That can be said for diets, exercise and anything else..One reason there are so many health products out their..You have to be your own doctor..Read all the books on health you can..Try a program and give it time to work..Ask yourself are these supplements I am taking making me feel better? The important thing is never stop searching for good health..

I don't do "SR" as coined on this site, but I do Meditate. I do not do it daily.
I enjoy it. Do I see long term benefits yet? No, not really. However, I've read enough on it that I know meditation is scientifically proven, and I do know I ENJOY it. So as long as I enjoy it and feel it's positive, I'll keep doing it.
As with most people and cultures who meditate, I do NOT stick to "rules and policies" in "how to" meditate and "relax" and such. I firmly feel that the cultures who have been successful at this for centuries have much to teach those of us who have been opened to it in the 1960's and after.

I'm actually more curious on that. Many people do forms of what the site calls (and some other sites) mention as "SR" such as prayer and so on (which prayer alone has all of the same benefits fyi) - but I'm curious as to how many people who have done SR for at least 6 months have overcome their health concerns?
I'm wondering as in 6 months, general physical and mind well being should be markedly improved, am I correct?

Count me in, but I don't do aerobics. (To my knowledge the 3LS doesn't specify "aerobics" as the preferred form of exercise.) I walk and ride a bicycle, and to raise hGH, increase bone density, and build muscle mass I lift weights.

I do concur with your assessment --- lots of "experts" here are not doing the 3LS and they aren't "experts" in anything either, as they profess to be.

Hi, Maira-Bliss and Happygal;
You can buy one at the Wellness ranch-go to the web site www.wellbeingranch.org and look under products carried; I think now they are around 50-60 dollars; My fist machine i bought at Radio Shack for $30.00, but they do not have them any longer, so i use the GSR2 Biofeedback Relax System, from the Wellness Ranch;

I love it and find SR. very benificial for many reason's; When in an altered state the body really unwinds stress and i feel like totally new coming out of it, dropping all stress for the 30 min i sit there; I use to do it more, but now i feel like i can live in that state a lot better, it is like you integrate that peace and centeredness.

My main exercise is the mini trampoline for 15 min.once or twice a day and yoga stretching for 70 min. at least 5 days a week sometimes 6 days; I also try to get a nature walk in 4 times a week and other water sports once a week;

With Bio feedback machine;
I sometimes use the machine to watch TV or a movie to see if i can stay out of the emotional world [that they love to play us into] and watch the special effects and enjoy the movie another way, staying centered. If you never tried it it is an interesting expierence.

I'm Big on eating right and have been on this path for 26 years. Feel like i would be dead without doing all these things and sticking to it, now it is a way of life.
Also love how i feel after doing fasting and i do it two times a year for over 10 days and enima's ect.

Can't imagine life without fresh vegetable juices and wonderful organic foods! Grow lots of them; Quality of Life matters to me, feeling really alive and excited about it;
So it is worth it!

Hi Terri Lynn

I am so glad you posted this. I was just about to post on the board right now to see if anyone had a biofeedback machine for sale, literally seconds before reading your post.

One thing I wanted to mention is that I agree with what you say keeps you healthy.

But I can't do those fasts. I find it way too erratic on my blood sugar levels, I am hypoglycemic. Well, the last time I did a fast was when I was in America on vacation, and that was over 2 years ago now, so maybe I would react differently.

P.S I am really excited about ordering that machine! I thought it was going to be a real ordeal trying to find one, especially living out here in Australia! You americans seem to have all the best things out there, especially good food products, that can't be found out here.
Thanks again for posting!

Hi Maria,

You might be able to find a used accessory from a Nordic Track exerciser or some other piece of exercise equipment.

A simple heart-rate monitor that has a digital readout and a
plastic clothespin clip that attaches to your finger,
will tell you when you are relaxing properly by letting you know how low you can get your heart-rate.
Check out the goodwill or secondhand stores. You will probably find one for about $5

The really cheap biofeedback machines don't really measure
brain activity, but convert your pulse speed into a variable
frequency sound instead. The advantage is that you can hear the sound while you close your eyes and relax.

Ron

Hi, Michele.

IF you have certified the effectiveness of your SR, and you have done it at least twice a day for 6 months, there is no way that you will not be feeling better.

Remember that SR is but one leg of the wellness stool and that some chronic conditions will require the entire stool to improve.

Yes it can be shipped over seas and you will enjoy it, i got mine out and started using it again after reading this post. You can also call 1800-800-0432;
As far as fasting, a person really does need to be intuitively tested or feel very confident that it feels right for them to fast, you are correct; I've worked with many people with fasting being right there with them and sometimes they need a lot of support and other times they need just a call over the phone once in awhile. Some people just go for it and they have the tools to move thorugh the body detoxing and dumping toxins and have not problems; I do feel it is wise to have a person there to talk with however, even if it is on this board; I have the tools is all and not afraid of it and my body can handle it; I started off doing just the vegetable juices and water whenever i was hungry [and you do get filled up if you have 6 drinks a day of juice]; Now i do it with one juice and aloe Vera and water, but i would still intuite it;
