I have been doing SR for several weeks now, using the brainwaves tapes. It is definitely getting easier to tell when I am in the alpha-theta mode. I even realized in a meeting at work today that I had a surge of relaxation in my muscles, and I identified it as the same feeling I have during SR! Guess I was zoning out. :) I wanted to thank Bill and Walt for having this forum. I believe in many ways it has saved my life. And thanks to HY and so many others who regularly help other people.
I have also realized by SR and paying attention to my body, that I am bracing most of the time (no surprise). Over time I am feeling it in more and more areas, and I assume this is because I am more mindful of my body. I am tongue thrusting constantly, and bracing in my urinary and bowel areas as well as shoulders, jaw etc. Is it normal/usual to become more aware of these things over time with SR? I guess I am reassuring myself that I am just more aware, and it's not that I am getting worse. I have systemic candida and leaky gut, and have been intensely trying to heal for almost four months.
Also I wanted to ask Walt what he thought of a night guard for bracing while sleeping. Or is it healthier to just keep addressing the bracing using SR?
Thank you!
Susan

Congratulations, Susan!
I would use the night guard since you are obviously on the right track with the SR. You won't need it more than a few months.

Hi Kate,
I got a set of four tapes at Borders, actually. They are by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. It is a set of four - one for theta, one for alpha, one alpha-theta mix and one delta. They have helped me a lot!
Hope this helps!
Susan
