Skin Irritation

Posted by Smiler on May 08, 2002 at 08:35:07:

I have noticed lately that my facial skin has become very sensitive. It is itchy at times...then hot others.....I look flush on and off out of nowhere...but when I am extremely anxious or upset...my face skin and my arms seem to break out in a rash.....what is this?

Hi, Smiler.

Traditionally, the skin has been thought to be the most sensitive organ in the body so far as stress is concerned.

Now, with more information, it seems that we have thought that simply because the skin is right out there where it can actually be seen. The other organs of the body are just as responsive.

The most likely diagnosis for what you have is dysautonomic. A gentle warning to be sure.

See the glossary and then the archives until you begin to see it and then let us know what you nave learned.

Walt
