I've got a tough question and if anyone can help with an answer it would be appreciated.
I'm a 26 yr. old male and in good physical condition. About a half a year ago I had trouble pissing ( meaning- I had to go alot, 15-25 times a day - and at times nothing much came out -but I had the constant urge ). Now, heres the tricky part: I went to a Urologist and have had my kidneys x rayed, a prostate exam, a scope exam of my bladder- and nothing was found to be wrong. I was thought to have had bladder spasms- but later found out I wasnt. I've done my research and dont have the urge to go while I'm asleep, dont have any problems w/ sex,( ruling out problems with my prostate- and like i said my prostate was found normal and not enlarged ). I was tested for std's- and found to have none. I was tested for sugar diabetes/diabetes and came out negative.
I did drink alot of alcohol ( sometimes binging ) and drank alot of caffeine a day- but am very physically active w/ weightlifting/b-ball, etc. I dont equate alcohol with the problem due to the fact i went weeks without drinking and still went 15+ times a day.
Recently I've cut out all caffeine and alcohol and still go about 6-11 times a day. Everything comes out fine now with a little hesitancy.
My question is: Does anyone else have this problem, and if so what are they doing to resolve it- or do they know what the reasons are for the problem. Has anyone every heard of anything like this? Will this problem persist in the future and get worse? I've had no family history of prostate cancer or anything like this.
Anyways, let me know.

Dave, I used to have a problem with that also when i was younger, and it went away after a few years. As I look back I think it was due to stress, and I did not realize it at the time. After I started getting a hold on the stress it became less and less of a problem. I also found when I took saw palmatto, it helped a lot. But in my opinion I think you have a stress problem, or whole body bracing and may not be aware of it. This was just my experience. Hope this helps some. Good luck

Dave,
Are you the same Dave who wrote about yellow semen a few days ago? For the past 10 years I've had the following symptoms plauge me off and on for about 10 years: frequent urination (up to once/hour at times), feeling of urgency, pain in the penis, discomfort after ejaculation, discomfort after bowel movements, pain in the scrtoal area, burning pain in the rectum. I would feel great one day (no symptoms) and become highly symptomatic the next, only to feel great the next day again. Went to several urologists. They all pumped me full of powerful antibiotics claiming I had an infection "deep in the tissue". Prostatitis. That has become an evil word with me. If I could delete one word fro m the english language, that would be the one.
What a bunch of BS. I am trained as a molecular biologist and know about the life cycle of infections and how an infection won't go away and come back on a day to day basis.
Last may I read a book called "The MindBody Prescription" by John Sarno. This book explained that prostatitis, along with frequent urination and other symptoms that I suffer from (back pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, headaches, etc.) are psychosomatic reactions. This doesn't mean that the symptoms are in your head. The pain is very real, but caused by your mind. I was very fortunate to also find Dr. Stoll's BB. Read the section on prostate troubles. It is very accurate.
It sounds like you are experiencing the garden-variey pelvic pain symptoms that I have. What is happening is a muscle tension disorder (bracing) that irritates the nerves and muscle that surrounds the prostate in the pelvic area. It is a defense mechanism, part of the fight-or-flight response.
If I had to guess, I'd say you're probably the oldest male child in your family, maybe an only child, motivated, easily angered, sensitive to criticism, type A personality.
Just for an experiment, don't follow through on your urge to urinate. Wait 1 or 2 hours. Your bladder may not really be full. The nerves around the bladder are signalling your brain that it is full, but it probably is not.
I found a urologist (female)at a major midwest top 10 health care institution who verified what Dr. Stoll preaches. She is a saint as she is working against the traditional medical teachings and she has been getting excellent results. The key to beating this problem is relaxation of the mind.
I've been rambling here, but there is so much to tell. It the 9 months that I've been working on SR and some physical therapy, I feel better than I have in years. Even on days that I have pelvic tension, I don't have the panic reaction that I used to have because I KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. Knowledge is key to fixing the problem. I now can go weeks without symptoms or having symptoms that are very minor that I barely notice. Instead of running to the bathroom every hour, or being afraid to leave the house, or searching for the bathroom wherever I go, I have confidence and an underlying relaxed happiness that I am normal. I don't feel perfect everyday, but I feel like I'm moving steadily in that direction.
I recommend reading an article by Dr. David Wise on the prostatitis web site. It explains it more concisely than I could on this BB.
Do the SR. Get excercise. RELAX. Accept that you have tension and don't let it stop you from doing things you want to do.
Send me e-mail if you'd care to discuss it further.
Take care

I believe in what you guys are telling me- in the fact that it is mainly involving stress. You also described my personality exactly but I dont have any of the symptons ( except for urgency ) that you described in the first paragraph- i.e.= pain or discomfort. And no, I'm not the dave with the yellow semen.

Hi, dave.
The clue is that this happens only in the daytime and not at night. ANY competent physician would have known this without ANY tests at all.
Of course it helps me to know that you have had all those tests but they were not necesary. It would have been easy to predict that they would ALL have been negative. Just think how much money all those tests cost! More income for the monopoly!
Anyhow, this is ONLY caused by stress-effect storage in the hypothalamus.
Only SR will cure this. Be happy that the message from your bodymind is so kind. The next message will be more serious.
If you need to understand how this happens, you might start with Dr Benson's classic and progress to Dr Pelletier's. See the search engine and archives about stress and about SR.
Let us know how you do.
