Whenever my husband starts to dread something, his skin tissues fill up and all of a sudden he can "pinch" 2 inches of skin. He keeps a low body fat level and it's not normal fluid retention because his weight doesn't change. THis "bloating" due to subconsious worry drives him nuts. When the event is past, the condition goes away. Sometimes he can't pin it to a certain upcoming event and it's just overall anxiety. He's on 50 mg of Prozac and his therapist has tried hypnosis, but no results. He's been to conventional doctors and had all sorts of tests but nothing appears abnormal. Anybody hear of this?

I am just wondering if he can be geting dehydrated since
pinching the skin is how you test animals for it but wether
the skin returns fast or not is what you look for. It just
sounded similar.

Hi, Maria.
Where is the fluid balance of the body controlled from? The hypothalamus---right beside the center where storage of stress-effect is located.
Of course, fluid balance and partition would be influenced. This will be more obvious to some people (depending on their genetic make up) and not at all in others (depending on THEIR genetic makeup).
SO, the solution (within 6-12 months) would be effective SR at least twice a day.
Let us know how he does.
