Dry Mouth

Posted by Jeannie on June 04, 2001 at 17:45:09:

I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Why do I feel constantly thirsty? Before I started drinking so much water, I never really had this problem of a dry mouth and a weird taste at the back of my tongue.

Does this have anything to do with candida? Or the candida diet that I'm on? My mouth tells me I'm dehydrated yet I'm obviously drinking more than enough water. Anyone have any explanations?

Hi, Jeannie.

Many causes. The first one that concerns me is diabetes.

By far the most common is chronic stress-effect storage in the hypothalamus. You are familiar with the dry mouth that occurs when one is public speaking???

A temporary help would be to develop the habit of holding a smooth stone in your mouth and moving it around continuously. Take it out to eat and sleep and shift it into your cheek to talk.

Walt
