I suffered a TIA in 1997 and have been seeing my physician for the past few years. Seems as though my condition from the mild stroke is getting no better. Do you suggest that I go to another physician? I have had no therpy and my body is tighting up daily. I can hardly hold my arms up to type or to much of anything. I hold a parttime job and can hardly hold out on an 8 hour shift. I'm constantly in pain in my legs, neck, shoulders, etc. My body feels as though its dying out. Will I become crippled throughout the rest of my life? I feel like I'm just here in the world and can do nothing as I use to. I'm just lame! I can't even handle my grandchildren when we play and I'm only 50 years old. Could you refer me to the closet specialist in Georgia that maybe I could get to see or a rehabilitation clinic if you'll do this type of thing?

Shelyn.
ANY TIA that has symptoms that last more than 24 hours is NOT a TIA (by definition) but a stroke. Rehabilitation is essential for recovery of function. IF you have shared this with your doc, you need a better doc, in my opinion, because the longer this goes on the less likely that ANYTHING can reverse it.
Let us know what you learn and how you do.
