Dr. Stoll - Stroke!

Posted by Rosemarie on December 21, 2000 at 00:23:02:

Dear Dr. Stoll, the thing I feared has happened. My husband had a stroke this morning. He's in the ICU. It was due to HP and a blood vessel broke in his brain. His speech is garbled and his right side quite impaired. He seems to understand, but can't form coherent words. This is not going to be good. I wished he would have listened. I'll let you know how it goes. Surgery to drain the blood has been ruled out, they are keeping his BP down through medication and hope that the blood will be slowly reabsorbed while keeping an eye on blood clot formation in the champers where blood may remain.

I know there's not much we can do right now, but are there any does and don'ts I should watch for as far as treatment in the hospital? He can't keep food/liquids down either.....

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rosemarie

Rosemarie,

I am sorry for your husbands illness and can identify somewhat with you, as my mother recently had a stroke as well.

You and your husband have been in my thoughts and prayers since you posted. Walt mentioned chelation for my mom. Remember to advise your husband to think positive that he'll recover.

Hi, Rosemarie.

Alternative medicine has not much to offer here other than what we were talking about to prevent this. This is where conventional medicine shines. Every one knows this but the greedy monopoly wants it ALL.

Whatever he has left when he gets out of the hospital will do better IF he is doing the things we recommended in the first place--only now he will have lost some of his function permanently.

Hi Rose,

Just thought I would let you know I found your request. I figured you would ask Dr. Stoll since I know how much you believe in him.

Kiss my brother for me and my prayers are with your family.

Your sister-in-law
