mineral salt? In other words, does raw sugar leach nutrients from your body the way that table salt does?

Hi, shinleaf.
I am not sure what you mean by "raw sugar".
The researchers in the area suggest that one might be able to have sugar under one circumstance. That is if they get the actual cane and eat it, fiber and all. OR, one could eat a sugar beet--ALL of it.
If that is not making sense to you, let us discuss it since others may have the same questions.

Interesting thread. I doubt many would eat the entire sugar cane, or the entire sugar beet. For "sweetness" it would be much easier to eat sweet corn (minus the cob!).
About honey, I'm just being a little facetious.
Where do you stop?
at the liquid honey?
at the comb?
at the comb + bees?
at the hollowed-out-tree-trunk and everything inside?

Hi, RocketHealer Jim.
It depends upon what your goal is.
IF you are trying to break a refined sugar addiction, ANY traces of anything refined will trigger the unwanted response & prolong withdrawal symptoms and cravings interminably. For those with any part of their system "broken" (symptoms), they would have to eliminate whole fruits, and even avoid the whole beet or cane AND any form of honey.
For those just wanting to be healthier, and have no concern about symptoms of withdrawal of refined carbohydrates, traces of refined carbohytdrates are not a problem and any form of RAW honey is OK --as well as any kind of raw whole fruit (in reasonable amounts).
Hope this helps.
