sugar and caffeine withdrawl and aching legs

I have been off of sugar and caffeine for about a week and my legs have ached constantly in the thigh area. It doesn't keep me awake but I am tempted to take something for it daily and I don't want to. What causes this? Is it sugar withdrawl? If so, how long does it last? I am drinking green tea but this morning had a decaffeinated cup of tea. I forgot there is a trace of caffeine in it. I didn't think caffeine withdrawl symptoms lasted past the couple days of foggyhead and headaches. HELP!

Hi, Nancy.

IF your symptoms started within a day of withdrawal, it likely IS due to your not knowing that ALL refined carbohydrates will cause withdrawal to persist for months. See the homepage.

I NEVER recommend someone try this without doing it right and the only reference I know of that teaches HOW to do it right is Beth Loiselle, RDs book "The Healing Power of Whole Foods". IF you do not have that reference I would suggest you stop what you are doing and see if your symptoms don't disappear in a day or so. Then, when you have digested the reference, try again. Done right, all symptoms of withdrawal should be gone in an average of 3 1/2 days. Your present symptoms would be an indication of how important this is for you AND how many benefits you would get from eliminating refined carbohydrates.

Let us know what you learn. Call (800) 970-5378.

Walt
