Coenzyme Q10, diarrhea and other problems

I've recently started taking this supplement. I read that we become deficient in this as we get older and I was starting to have symptoms such as lowered resistance and weight gain with inability to lose no matter WHAT I do. I catch everything that comes along anymore and feel so weak I can hardly exercise anymore. Co Q10 is supposed to help with these things. I have these problems despite doing the wellness program Dr. Stoll taught me over 20 years ago. (sorry about the reference to our age Dr. Stoll!) lol....

So, I would like to get y'alls (sorry, from Kentucky) input on this; those of you that have experience with this supplement or from those of you that think starting this supplement is not a good idea and why. I hear that when you start taking it, you shouldn't really ever stop. It can be quite expensive, but I found a month's supply at Wal-mart for under $12.

I have only taken one capsule so far and I now have major diarrhea. About 2 weeks ago, I began taking pyrvuate (for weight loss) with HCA. I've lost 2 pounds already! but anyway, this has given me mild diarrhea.

Should I not take CoQ10, pyruvate, and HCA together?

Change of subject - **I'm majorly upset about the vitamin ban and am really ticked off as I know the rest of you are. So, it seems the greedy allopathic monopoly and their pharmaceutical buddies are finally admitting that prevention and a wholesome approach works? They're contradicting themselves, i.e., one previous study actually said that Ester C causes cancer. HA. I've even seen MDs on television telling us that vitamins do nothing and not to buy them; in favor of a prescription. Now they want to make vitamin's available by prescription only. Man, talk about talking outa both sides of their mouth! They're changing their tune now in pursuit of the almighty dollar. How can we expose them for the greedy blood sucking slime they really are, what can I do!!!!

Thanks, Ann.

All I know anyone can do is contact all their senators and representatives AND all their friends. CODEX, in this country, would be a major setback for those trying to help themselves and a major boost for the income of physicians--who know so little about this since all AMA policy has been to deny it's importance for nearly 100 years. Basically, this bill would put the control of nutrition in the hands of that segment of our population that knows the very least about it--a major disaster by any standard.

I have no experience with CoQ10 in relationship to these other substances. The general rule is stop taking anything that you can demonstrate makes you feel worse. We are all different. However, since healthy people make CoQ10 themselves, I seriously doubt that it is the CoQ10 itself. Perhaps it is this particular manufacturer.

I am more concerned that you are doing "everything I recommended" and still have symptoms. I would be very interested in EXACTLY what you are doing.

Namaste`

Walt

Thanks for responding Dr. Stoll. I will certainly write senators, representatives and their cronies.

You were interested in what I'm doing for wellness. I never miss exercise, always doing some form of it 6 days a week. Aerobics 4X. Muscle toning with 5/10 lb. weights 2/3 X a week. That on top of my regular housework, running up and downstairs, vacuuming, etc. You would think I'd look like Popeye's girlfriend! But I can't get this 20 lbs. off that's creeped up on me. I'm 41, 142 lb.s, 5'2". Not obese, just not how I should be with all this exercise and eating right; and just not comfortable at this weight. Anyway, back to the things I do for wellness:
no sugar, absolutely no foods like macaroni, white bread, white rice; refined foods. Skilled relaxation everday 2x daily; with a relaxation tape. You know, everything I'm supposed to do.

The thing that bugs me the most is the extra weight. That's why I was hoping the CoQ10 might help because I read that people over 40 could be deficient.

Anyway, you wanted to know. So... thanks again for your response.

WOW, Ann.

I am impressed. Now I have to ask: when was the last time you had your SR tested to see what is happening to your brain when you do it?

Next, have you tried adding the concentrated food supplements as a 3 month trial for weight loss?

Dr. Stoll, I have never had any tests done while doing SR. Will look into that.

I have to ask, concentrated food supplements? As in slim fast, atkins bars, etc. or?...

Thanks again.

Thanks, Ann.

Most vitamin manufacturers now offer a class of supplement that is called a whole foods concentrate. You will have to get the catalogs from several and let us know what you are learning. Skaklee is one and Standard Process is another that have been around for a long time.
