These are SOME of the possibilities but certainly not all of them. ANY nutrient can be used to heal LGS if that particular nutrient is missing from the diet. For example, if you are low on vitamin A, your intestinal lining will not heal well and the only way it will get better, is by getting the vitamin A. Of course, this implies that the reason for the LGS is nutritional. Chronic bracing is not the ONLY cause of LGS, just a very common one. Drugs, poor diet, and NSAID's can DIRECTLY damage the gut as well. In general, L-glutamine, DGL, cellulose fiber, SeaCure, certain vitamins/minerals, EFA's, colostrum, among others, are HELPFUL in healing LGS. The important thing is to try and uncover the CAUSE of how it happened. IF this cannot be done, steps must be taken to ensure that all "bases" are covered. Improve the diet, practice SR, have balance between exercise and rest, and take a whole foods supplement, EFA's, and probiotics to ensure adequate nutrition. This is the best way to heal LGS when no apparent "cause" can be found. For many, chronic bracing is the culprit but for others, just a few months of being on powerful NSAID's can cause the damage. Anyway, I just thought I would leave that info with you.
