The last days I started taking vit-C supplements of about 500mg per day. I have noticed that since then I have become constipated and I suspect it is due to the supplements.
Do you have any explanations/suggestion?
Many thanks.

I doubt the C is causing this. Keep increasing your C intake adding about 1 gram per day, spread out over the day, until you loosen up. You will know when. At that point, back off of the dosage 1 gram at a time until your stools are soft and easy. That will tell you how much C you need. Most adults can tolerate between 6 grams to 10 grams per day without problems.
Increase C intake when you feel a cold coming on. Same limitations.

Lots of C will loosen you up.
Eating leafy greens, most veggies, fruits, water, whole grains will help. Avoid sugar and refined carbs and maybe dairy. Get Beth's book that explains the whole foods diet.
Exercise. Take some psyllium husk (Metamucil) to help, too, with lots of water.

Hi, Nikolawski.
Listen to Martha and Mike. If you are using really cheap vitamin C, it could have as many as 35 "inert" additives in the tablet that the manufacturer does not have to list on the lable. Any one of them could be causing your constipation response.
High quality vitamins will say on the lable stuff like: No additives, starch, corn, wheat, dairy, etc in this product.
