I have read a number of conflicting
things about the symptom of flushing when
one takes Niacin.
I get this symptom...yet others don`t. What
do you think it signifies.....

niacin can raise the blood sugar, so ask a friend with a blood glucose meter to take a reading to see if your sugar is high (if you've had food of drink in the last two hours, the meter reading may only reflect that, so take the stuff two hours or more after anything with carbs).
There's a form of niacin that doesn't cause flushung- it's called inositol.
When people say they take niacin, some mean niacin, some mean niacinamide, some mean inositol, and there's regular and time release. This may have to do with the different reactions of different people, as does their overall health and, possibly, their blood type.Have them define the word niacin more specifically.

Thanks, Paulc.
The flush means it is working. Non-flush alternatives do not work as well.
Hope this helps.
