Friends,
This was printed, in it's entirity, in the 75 page Client Handbook we gave to each new patient at our Centre in KY:
"IF our nation's soil was virgin--which is is not;
IF our ancestors were perfect--they were not;
IF you could teach people to eat to satisfy the body's needs and not their perverted appetities--which we cannot;
IF we could all own our own cow or goat; raise our own meat and poultry--which we cannot;
IF our foods were not harvested green and immature--but they are;
If storage did not produce deficiencies of vitamins--but it does;
IF we lived in a 'stress-free' world--which we do not;
IF chemical fertilizers were not used in our soil--but they are;
If refinement, procesing, enrichment & synthetic substitution were not a reality--but they are;
IF the animals were not force-fed and hormone-fed to increase their weight and make an earlier market day--which they are;
IF the animals we eat were fed a perfect diet--which they are not;
IF insecticides did not penetrate every cell of our food--but they do;
IF most of our grains were not refined into dried cereals--which they are;
IF our white sugar possessed anything more nutritive than sand--which it does not;
IF our modern white flour was all used for wallpaper paste instead of bakery goods--which it is not:
IF our foods were not overcooked--but they are;
IF our deep-fry fats were not found in almost every restaurant--but they are;
IF man would live by the laws of nature--which he will not;
IF our environment (water, air, food, etc.) was not severely polluted--which it is;
THEN, WE WOULDN'T NEED TO TAKE VITAMIN AND MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS!"

Comments? At the time this was written, the AMA's official position was still that vitamin/mineral supplements were only making expensive urine. Of course now, 20 years later, the AMA's official position is that vitamin/mineral supplements are a good idea for everyone. Anyone ever heard of CODEX?

Walt,
In the mid fifties, Health Canada (our government
regulatory agency) took a broad sample of vegetables and
broke them down into the cooresponding nutrients. A few
years ago I read that they did the same test at the fifty
year mark and found that the depletion of minerals and vitamins varied from 10 to 90% across a wide range of
nutrients.
Ain`t capitalism grande.....

Yes, Walt, I've heard of CODEX... isn't that what is trying to do away with our being able to get vits/mins on our own across the counter?? or something like that?
BTW, I would really appreciate if you would give me a short message on my original post "Maxam Nutraceutics Chelation". I need to know if those products are any good, or any warnings I need to be aware of about them.

Thanks so much for all your help here!
Jaime

Hi, Jaime.
Somehow I missed your original post--------perhaps because of my illness?
