Hi Walt,
I promised I would call the number for Metagenics that you gave me yesterday and report back my results, so here goes:
I called the number you gave me and they gave me their number for my state.
I called that number and they transfered me to customer service.
A nice woman did a search on their website [Metagenics] and found the nearest practitioners who sold the product.
She gave me their names and phone numbers.
I asked if they only sold their product through practioners and she said yes, that's how Metagenics does it but that Ethical Nutrients can be found at health food stores.
I asked if the content was the same for this product and she said. However, it sounds like the content of Metagenics vs Ethical Nutrients products in general may vary from each other as well as the prices.
Under Ethical Nutrients hydroxyapatite with boron is called Bone Builder, and sells for either 19 or 31 dollars depending on the size. The same product in Metagenics is called Cal Appetite and the suggested retail prices are either $17.49 or $43.25.
Suggested retail price means that the practitioners can adjust the price. (I noticed that the price went up by $10 at the chiropractic clinic I told you about).
After some probing questions on my part I found out that there are two websites, one for Ethical Nutrients and one for Metagenics. Each website has a "finder" function. On the Ethical Nutrients site it will locate stores, and on Metagenics website, it will locate practitioners.
This is all I know for now. When I go to both websites and try to find health food stores and more practitioners and purchase the product, I will let you know what transpires.

My comment was incomplete: the Bone Builder and Cal Appetite are equivelent in terms of ingredients!

Thanks Sounder, google is always an option once you know the name of the product. However, it's a lot more stuff to wade through, so I'll use the finder function on the websites.

I just started using Ethical Nutrients Bone Builder. I think I got it from vitaminlife.com.
There used to be a place online to buy Metagenics, but I didn't find it last time I tried.

Thanks Annod! I just looked and there is a very nice discount indeed. I'll save the link. I don't usually purchase online but I may start at some point and this is good to know. Do you know why vitacost is so reasonable? Do they buy in such huge amounts that they can afford to discount the way they do?
